Baton Rouge Young Topologists Research Retreat

January 8-14, 2012

Schedule

BRYTRR is a weeklong retreat which will be held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at LSU in January 2012. Graduate students and other young mathematicians will spend the bulk of a week in close quarters working on tractable research and writing mathematics.

The goal is to translate graph invariants of the dimer graph into known knot invariants. Sub-projects and recommended reading are listed on the Research page.

This workshop is, in part, an extension of the VIR course on Links on a Torus and Dimer Invariants taught at LSU in the fall of 2011. We will have support from the NSF VIGRE grant at LSU to cover travel expenses for visitors. Registration must be recieved by Monday, Dec 5 to be fully considered for funding and talks.

Organizers:
Kate Kearney, Louisiana State University, kearney@lsu.edu, supported by VIGRE
Moshe Cohen, Bar-Ilan University, cohenm10@macs.biu.ac.il
In conjunction with the LSU Topology Group, with support from VIGRE.
