EENG 303: Tools

Fall 2017 - Claudio Talarico, Gonzaga University

CAD Tools

The main CAD Tools we will be using are SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuits Emphasis) and MATLAB. SPICE is a circuit simulation program originally developed at UC Berkeley.

The flavor of SPICE we use is called LTspice and is developed by Linear Technology. LTspice provides free schematic capture, circuit simulator, waveform viewer and it works on Windows, MAC and Linux/Unix platforms.

For a concise introduction to SPICE read appendix A of the textbook (Razavi).

MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a numerical and symbolic computing environment and programming language developed by MathWorks.

Students can buy MATLAB and Simulink for only $99
