Founded in 1966, SSPP was one of the first satellite organizations of the American Philosophical Association. The Society is a group of scholars in philosophy and related fields with a specialty or interest in process thought. The Society holds periodic meetings in conjunction with each of the divisional meetings of the American Philosophical Association, as well as at the annual meeting of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy. The Society is an active member of the International Process Network. We encourage our membership to consider also becoming members of IPN. IPN has helped facilitate several major international conferences in process thought (the next will be in 2008 in Bangalore, India), and cross-membership will give both of our organizations all the more ability to serve our participants and facilitate their connection to process scholars around the world. Jude Jones hosts the home office of IPN at Fordham and serves on the board representing American academic interests in the work of IPN, as well as in several other capacities. SSPP enjoys member status in IPN as an organization, but individuals should also consider joining via the IPN website (http://www.processnetwork.org). More on the Society's history...
